I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I am loving Instagram these days

And it’s that time!!
Peony season has begun. And I plan on making the absolute most of it.

I love Instagram these days. Did I say that?
Yes, yes, I did!!

And it's not because I'm getting tons of engagement, new followers, and lots of likes…
Nope, not at all. ⬇︎⬇︎⬇︎🙃

Instagram is different from what it once was. But it has been a constant source of inspiration along my creative path.

Instagram inspired:
+ my black canvas wall and love of dark and moody imagery.
+ my white and light studio dreams.

Instagram helped introduce me to so many amazing creatives from around the globe without leaving my tiny town.

And it was Instagram that inspired me to get out of my own way and finally start making videos.
I never thought I'd say I'm in LOVE with filmmaking. But it's true. I love it so much!

Yes, Instagram is constantly changing, which can sometimes be frustrating. But it's still a space to show up, share, and get inspired.

And so, today, I'll say it…
Instagram, thank you for making me stretch and grow along my creative path!! (And by Instagram, I mean all the AMAZING creatives contributing to the app).

If you need a little Insta-reframe…

Perhaps thinking of it as a creative tool to help you stretch and grow will help?

A Personal Project

Speaking of Instagram, I decided to post 31 films in 31 days this past May. (BEST personal project I've done in a long time.)

The first few days were a bit clumsy, but it was only a short time before the momentum caught up, and I was off!
My goal wasn't to race to the finish line and crash. My goal was to show up daily, no matter what.

And I did it!! Woo hoo.
And now I don’t want to stop.

I thought, what if I keep going? Could I do 90 days?
Then thought, at what cost?

Making a film every day takes time and comes with trade-offs.

I have many other hats.
👒🧢 (actually, I never wear hats) 🙃

But then I thought. 💡
60 films in 90 days! I could do that.
And so it continues.

As of today, I've created 36 films for my 60-in-90-day challenge, and it feels good!

This leads me to an invitation to join me for my upcoming live masterclass. Filmmaking for Photographers.
(with bonus tips on designing a personal creative challenge you actually show up to!)

I'm obsessed with Filmmaking and want all my photography friends to love it too!!
In this masterclass, I'm sharing my steps to break through my resistance and start making films.

It's such a rewarding creative process. And with today's amazing cameras and creative apps, it's so simple to do!!
Imagine your stills coming to life with motion and music!! It's a beautiful thing!

Today, I see motion in every frame. And it's magical to me.
Never say never!! If I can do this, you can too!!

Come join me for my FREE Filmmaking for Photographers class. (plus bonus tips for designing your own creative challenge)
