I’m on a quest to lighten the competition amongst artists.
The world is a much prettier place when we choose to celebrate our own art…and the art of others we adore.
I heard something a little bit ago about… creative competition…and jealousy.
It went something like this….
Rather than holding onto the jealousy…letting it boil up and over…. or eat you up inside….
Let it go..flip it around…..Celebrate it….out loud…..
‘Oh my gosh…. I wish I thought of that… or I am so in awe of your art…. It’s amazing’…….and so on.
and before long….. those jealous, less-than feelings aren’t nearly as intense…..
What do you say? YES?!?
Today I’m featuring the amazing art of Julia Smith…. aka @juliabesidethesea on IG….
Be sure to pop over and take a peek at her feed…. and follow her (if you don’t already)…..it’s so full of light and white… and all around loveliness….
You might recognize Julia as one of the #fridayfaffingcompetition hosts…(love friday faffing).
Welcome my friend……. So happy you are here.
Tell us a wee bit about yourself, Julia.
Could you tell us about the gear you use to take/make your lovely photos…and what inspires you?
Please Share one of your favourite photos…. along with a little behind the scenes info?
I took this last autumn and although it wasn’t the first cup I wrapped with plant life, it isn’t even perfectly focused, but it is still my favourite of the series so far. This is my favourite cup, so lovely to hold, and the gradual colour change of the creeper is beautiful. It makes me smile each time I scroll past it.
Could you share a few of your favourite IG artists? Who inspires you?
Could you tell us a bit about you Instagram Experience?
Julia, before we close, tell us one completely random fact about you?
Julia… thank you… I just love this interview…thank you for sharing with us…..
Your ART …..and your spirit…. is such an inspiration.
My Still Sunday
I host a weekly tag on IG, called #mystillsundaycompetition. To play along tag your IG image with @kimklassen and include the hashtag #mystillsundaycompetition in the comments. This automatically enters your photo(s) in the Still Sunday pool.
Each Wednesday I feature a few of the lovely images both here and over on Instagram. (Sorry but you do need to have Instagram on a device in order to play along.) Until next time…here’s to a week full of inspiration and moments to breathe and just be.
