It’s been several weeks since I met Xanthe in California….. for the very first Gather retreat……
Here we are in front of the beautiful beach house on the last day of the first Gathering….. Thank you Carolyn for capturing this moment.
It feels a bit like Gather never happened….. But it did…
and Here’s proof….. : ) Wanna see happiness…. this video says JOY to me….A repost of Xanthe’s Gather film…….
Yes, it really was amazing.
Back home now…. and life keeps moving forward…..
It’s exciting to see the women who came to gather….. setting intentions, moving forward and making things happen…..Bursting.
There’s big power in real life connection…..
The energy …… electric…… Something you truly have to be ‘in’ to comprehend…… A gift.
I’m thankful I was able to share this experience with Xanthe……Myriam, Alysha and all the lovely women that came to Gather.
When Xanthe and I met at the Shutter Sisters retreat….over 3 years ago…..I never imagined hosting a California gathering together……
But we did it…..and Yep, we wanna do it again. : )
It’s amazing what happens when you set your intentions….
I’m always in awe of how beautifully life unfold….
My Friday Find – Friendship & a Gift of Film
Xanthe & I may be worlds apart from each other (London and Canada)…
but she’s always there for me….
Thank goodness for ‘through the screen’ conversations.
It’s funny really… how different we are……….
personality, shooting style…..Canon, Nikon…. country, city…..many opposites……
Xanthe is super fun, outgoing… playful…… She shoots colour and motion…. lives in the city….
Me, well… you know…
introvert, can’t get enough quiet, love shooting stills… with little or just a toucha colour……… quiet, peaceful walks in the country… that’s me…..
Night and Day….in a lot of ways….
But, we both love to create, inspire….share…. We both have 2 boys…. love our life….and can’t not do….what we do….
So grateful for you sweet friend…..one of the truest blessings in my life….. and…..
Oh my gosh…. a MEGA talent…… Here’s the lovely video Xanthe made of me shooting during Gather.
So thankful for this Xanthe.
Thank you for stopping by…
I’d love to hear an unexpected friendship story of yours………
I invite you to share in the comments….. It’s always wonderful to hear from you.

Beautiful films. So inspirational. And how lovely to have such a dynamic friendship. All the best for the weekend, and thanks for hosting the link-up, Bonny
I really like the photo of you and Xanthe! Distance is no match for friendship. :)
That photo of you and Xanthe is one you’ll treasure forever. Friendship is one of my favorite topics – as my friends have stood by me, saved me, and lifted me up. They are gifts in my life and they are giving and caring -even when I don’t deserve it. My blog post today has a photo of 2 of my best friends, my sisters – who know me like no one else – and still love me. Thanks, Kim, sharing the details of Gather and for planning ahead for 2015!
such a lovely tribute…the bond you two share is strong and supportive – one of the blessings of life is such a friend…
I enjoyed the videos with the lovely music to accompany them. Gather is something I would so love to do. The video reminded me of a painting class I took this August that my friend taught in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. We hadn’t seen each other for four years and she is starting out teaching these classes. So I signed up (I was in need of a weekend away from home) and stayed with her and two other women in her cabin up in the woods. It was a truly magical weekend – the painting was great, but the togetherness afterwards really was the magic. It’s amazing how well women of different ages and backgrounds can connect and share a time of warmth, understanding, laughter, seriousness and silliness. Friendship. This weekend still warms my heart and feeds my soul.
Thanks so much for sharing a wee bit of the happening during the conference . . . glad your heart was filled up!
I so love it all … where do I start? I love your connection with Xanthe … I love that I met you, and I love that I met her … it does feel like a dream … the videos are so moving – no words …
Very happy and professional photography ~ Sometimes are ‘finds’ are right in front of our nose ~ good to appreciate!
Happy Weekend,
artmusedog and carol
Thank you for sharing the videos. What a magical time for you all!
Just wanted to let you know… I received the Artful Blogging magazine and enjoyed it tremendously, so much beauty between the covers. Your article was wonderful. Thank you again!
That video of you shooting still life needs to be front ‘n center on your home page. I don’t even like auto-playing videos but I feel like this so perfectly captures what you do that it would be a shame for someone to visit and NOT watch it. The two of you make a pretty incredible team. And her capsule classes have been on my to do list for a long time. I currently have the email for her year-long class popping up on a weekly basis as a reminder to sign up before January. Think it’ll be my Christmas gift to myself. :)
What a beautiful shot of you and Xanthe, it looks so heartwarming. The videos make me smile too. You all can be so happy to spend together such wonderful moments. LG Su
Beautiful memories, kim and I knew I recognized those calves standing on the table! :) Sorry I am giggling here. Xanthe just does the best work in her videos and lifestyle.
