My Friday Finds
Gifts in the mail… Gifts to my door… Gifts from the heart…and so much gratitude…..
I could not believe it when I opened Barbara’s gift …and found this gorgeous book…
For the Love of Old….Where have I been? How did I not know about this gorgeous book Barbara? Thank you so much…..
It’s absolutely stunning… inside and out. Thank you my friend….I will cherish it always….. So hard to find the words.
Listen to this…. friends…. On the cover….Isn’t it perfect!!
For the Love of Old: Living with Chipped, Frayed, Tarnished, Faded, Tattered, Worn and Weathered Things that Bring.
Be still my heart….
Oh…just had to throw in a photo I was working on for Start to Finish…. So fun…and so yummmm. Chocolate anyone?
And then there’s Benny…. He was standing right there while I was taking my photos…. had to snap his sweetness…. This is his look-out window to our driveway (he was waiting for John to come home)… he also keeps tabs on Grandma and Grandpa across the street…. such a busy boy. : )
and then….
My lovely friend PG dropped this autumn package on my doorstep yesterday….
‘for my dear faffing friend……’
Have I mentioned faffing? It’s a lovely British saying for playing…. (as some of you already know…. )
Lots of Aussie friends on IG reference it….I immediately fell in love with the expression….. on IG…
I’m an excellent faffer…
Isn’t it just the perfect way to describe creative play?
Oh that reminds me…. another beautiful British friend shared a saying the other day…that I also love…. Seriously…..the best sayings….
‘Chuck the rubbish away…’
in regards to unkindness… isn’t that THE BEST?
Thank you for that dear friend (you know who you are… ).
The last was a heart gift….no photo…just a huge heart of gratitude………….
It’s been a difficult week… So thankful it was sprinkled with such incredible blessings…..
So dear friends….that’s my Friday Finds….Thank you for sharing yours…..
With gratitude….. always….
xo,
So funny I discovered this book a few weeks ago and posted it on FF it’s on my Christmas this !!
You always spread so much positive vibes, Thank you for that. That’s partly why I love visiting. The other reason why I love stopping is to get my dose of “calming, soft, and soothing” images –yours.
your site is lovely- what a find!
Lovely image of chocolate, Kim. Just what I need first thing on a sluggish Friday morning in our half term holidays. I’m glad to hear that you’ve been supported by friends through a tricky week. Hope the road gets smoother and the going gets easier . All the best and have a wonderful weekend, Bonny
Oh, that book must be filled with amazing inspiration!! What a sweet gift from Barbara!! Loving the chocolate prompt, and your appetizing and tempting creation. Chocolate anything works for me, just about any time of the day. :-) “chuck the rubbish away”! Love it!
Thank you for hosting Kim. Love your gifts!
Faffing…what a wonderful word. I love it! Your photos are stunning…I love the beautiful turn they have taken with the subtle tones. They’re so gorgeous to look at! Have a wonderful weekend, Kim. xo
Kim, Thank you for hosting this link-up that has become a reliable source of encouragement and inspiration for me. What a lovely gift from Barb! I have several books by Mary Randolph Carter (love “A perfectly kept house is the sign of a misspent life”). And your chocolate picture – rich and detailed and light-filled – love it! And the basket of fall goodies from PG – your friends really know when you need them and respond with loving kindness – a treasure to be sure. Between the lines, it seems that life may be giving you a hard run. You are not alone – seek solace here with your friends as often as needed.
I just might have to put that book on my MUST GET list! Love the tones in your shots Kim. TGIF.
i didn’t participate to your FF for a long time and i really missed it!! your pictures are always unique! glad to be back and i love this new style!
beautiful gifts… beautiful images…
hope next week is less difficult, and this weekend is joyful and peaceful.
xo
Oh that book!! a must have … I’m going looking for it asap! Beautiful and inspiring images and words as usual, Kim. I have been over the top inspired by your work and it’s showing … :) Thank you so much, and here’s to a beautiful new week(end)!
Hi, Kim! I’ve been missing-in-action a bit. All is well but I’ve been traveling so much, my rhythm is all out of whack. I’m home now and hope to get back to my Tuesday/Friday linkup parties. Just wanted to say hi and that I love, absolutely love, your ‘new’ Anglophile terms. I’d not heard of faffing, didn’t know what it meant when I saw it on IG! Chuck it out with the garbage I’ve heard but never incorporated into my speech. Well, it’s going to be there now!
Big hugs and always good thoughts for you and John and the family!
xoxo
Looks like a great book, Kim, what a lovely gift !
