I’m on a quest to lighten the competition between artists. I think the world is a much prettier place when we celebrate our own art…and the art of others we admire.
I connected with Emma a few months back, through her weekly Tuesday Instagram tag #gatheredstyle.
If you have yet to join the fun, do check it out. It’s full to the rim of inspiration.
I invited Emma to share some of her lovely work…and a few fun facts as well.
Please join me in celebrating the beautiful art of Emma Harris.
Tell us a wee bit about yourself.
Hi, my name is Emma, and I live in Brighton, a small but cosmopolitan City on the South Coast of the UK. I am a mother, a blogger, and a maker, but mostly, you’ll find me taking photos, usually incorporating one of my favourite things, and that’s flowers.
Would you share a bit about the gear you use to take/make your gorgeous photos?
I take all of my instagram photos with my iPhone, I don’t tend to edit them that much but any editing I do is with PicTapGo.
I try and use my ‘big’ camera for blog photos, which is a Canon EOS 550D, I recently bought a 50mm 1.8 lens, so I’m mainly using that at the moment. I use Photoshop for editing.
I know it’s hard, but could you share a few Instagram artists that inspire you?
There are so many talented people on instagram, it is pretty hard to narrow it down to a few favourites, but I personally find the photography by these folk, absolutely beautiful:
Please Share one of Your Favourite Photos along with a little behind the scenes info?
I tend to favour simplicity when it comes to my photographs (not necessarily other peoples though), I think that is something that could be said about everything in my life really.
So this photo, is just that, simple, it involves two props, some brown paper, and one of my favourite flowers, wax flower. It was taken in the morning, on a backdrop that I use a lot because of its gorgeous patina, a vintage metal desk, with the light coming from a north-facing window behind.
Okay Emma, before we wrap, how ’bout one completely random fact about you?
My favourite colour is grey, although I’ve started to realise since using Instagram, that I’m pretty partial to pink too!
Thank you Emma for sharing your beautiful work… ♡

This automatically enters your photo(s) in the Still Sunday pool.
Each Wednesday I feature a few of the lovely images both here and over on Instagram.
(Sorry but you do need to have Instagram on a device in order to play along.)
Until next time…here’s to a week full of inspiration and moments to breathe and just be.
