Can you relate?
An idea comes in.
The imagination starts to flow. So exciting.
You pick up your phone and start scrolling for extra inspiration.
The more you look, the more possibilities you find.
Oh, there’s this and this, and what if I did this?
Enter inspiration overload.
Leaving you stuck in a possibilities thought-loop.
I’ve been a bit stuck myself. The words haven’t been flowing.
I’m not short on ideas. In fact, I have a long list of subjects in my notes app.
But I just haven’t been able to start.
Thought-loops going round and round in my head.
Until now.
This is me, breaking the loop.
This is me, getting the words out of my head and onto the page.
How ’bout you?
Are you stuck in a creative possibilities thought-loop?
Thinking/researching/scrolling more than making or doing?
Do-ers take an idea/inspiration and go with it.
They take the first step, then the next.
They don’t wait for perfect. They don’t over-plan. They do, adjust, tweak, and repeat.
Growing and becoming while DO-ing.
Think-ers think.
They scroll. They look for inspiration, watch tutorials. They research gear. They buy gear.
They make lists.
They imagine all the possibilities.
All the thinking often fools the thinker into believing they’re doing.
I’m not judging …. I can overthink too.
The good news. We can shift from thinking to doing simply by taking the first step, then the next. The only way forward is to start.
All the gear, all the props, all the words, all the things will NEVER ever be perfectly aligned.
What have you been thinking about for too long?
What can you DO today to move forward and toward?
If not now… when?

I have chronic depression. The most basic daily things are a challenge for me: making my bed, taking a shower, brushing my teeth. She had me start using a tracker for daily tasks. After a few weeks, she noticed that I still wasn’t doing some of my daily tasks. I talked through them with her and she gave me some great advice that has worked wonders for me at home and at work. She said that, when I resist an activity, just start. Do a small thing. If I can’t make my bed, maybe just change the pillow cases. I don’t have to do the activity perfectly or completely. I just have to start. Any action, no matter how small, is a step toward accomplishing a task. Just start.
hi Kelly
it’s so true. any action… no matter how small…. yes!!
be well my lovely. xxx
Yes… this is exactly what’s been going on with me when it comes to creative pursuits.
Lots and lots of thinking…. very little doing. 😳
But, last night I made a start.
Tags made, photo shoot planned for this morning.
Thanks Kim! 🥰💕💕
but you’ve been a busy bee this week…. i would say the doing is happening. so exciting. xxx
O, I recognize myself – think of all the possibilities what I could do.
But less doing.
Sometimes I’m in my flow. All is easy and well done. But it’s so rarely.
So breathe and one step after the other is a starting point – and don’t forget: BREATHE.
I’ll try it ;-)
you’ve got this Claudia…. and you are amazing. xxx
Wow this is me so much! I want to do SO many things that I don’t start any!

How did you know? Yep, over thinker posing as an analyst- even went to school to fine tune and increase my analytical abilities because I thought it was my strength – for my chosen career path it was – however, time often flushes out deep rooted passions, gifts and talents that had been analyzed right into the cellar – lol! Thank you fir this brake-screeching post – I truly appreciate it😊
Jane i love your words here. so beautifully written.
take care my friend. xx
This is so spot on Kim. Last night I followed your design cuts libraries tutorial, organised and filed them all in my creative cloud library then made a little photoshop thing from the items I filed. Wow it felt really good.

I have been dealing with a younger cousin (5 years my Junior) who had cancer. She passed away last night, and it has been weighing heavy on my soul. All week I was just floundering, and now must deal with the loss. Inner Circle is probably saving my soul!
Sorry for your loss. Glad you are here. You are always where you’re suppose to be.
im so sorry to hear this news. ♡ sending love. go gentle my lovely…. and I’m so glad you’re with us in the circle. xxx
So spot on. I pretty much in the back of my mind think my doing needs a purpose or reason, but this year I’ve let that go pretty well. But it is just too easy to stop and get stuck again.
hello lovely… ♡.
it is so easy to stop and get a little stuck.
always a journey.
sending love. xxx
