My neighbour has a friend….who grows beautiful hydrangea… She brought me a bouquet the other day….. They are incredibly beautiful…. different than the ones I buy at Safeway. Daintier petals… organic …
They definitely dry faster… and equally as beautiful when dry…..
A few days later, my sweet friend PG stopped by with a paper sack of fresh-picked apples…..
I’ve been having great fun taking pictures…. planning a light- lesson for the upcoming Start to Finish class.
And so…. it’s been a lovely week of gifts….and lovely light…. So much gratitude….
I didn’t use texture on the apple photos….but the lovely hydrangea is textured with today’s freebie….
Toned and cropped…..then applied my touchadrama preset…..( from 31 Days class)
Into photoshop for a layer of today’s texture ‘gift’ at soft light 100% opacity.
and that as they say….was that.

31 Days – Lightroom Tips & Tricks direct to your inbox….
The 31 Days class has been a hit…. I have received so many lovely testimonials… It’s truly overwhelming……
I haven’t had a chance to respond to all of them… but I’m so happy you enjoyed the class. Thank you for the notes. I really enjoyed creating the course.
I’m thinking 31 Days of Photoshop might be next? : )
This is the last week to sign up for 31 Days at $31.00.
You can find the class details here.
31 Days Testimonials… just a few…I will be posting more over on the class page… shortly.
I enjoyed this class very much. I like your teaching style, the lessons were clear, following along with you on screen was really good. I love Lightroom and have used it for a couple of years but seem to forget some of the really neat things it can do! I like that you covered everything and reminded me of forgotten things and taught me some new tricks!
For me, not having an “assignment” was good. Not having to create something with a newly learned skill was a good thing. Being able to practice and try new things on my own helped me learn them. And I have used some new things! I used the new gradient filter (circle in LR5) on a picture and got a comment about how amazing the light is! lol! But it’s all good! I enjoyed creating the picture and enjoyed reading the comment.
Thank you again, Kim!
A thank you. I so enjoyed the format of 31 Days…it scooted us right thru your valuable information, which is always presented impeccably. This is super duper busy time setting up your website and transferring your classes. I hope there are NO glitches, smooth sailing ahead and completed ahead of time. Then take a deep breath. Thank you so much for presenting this material and allowing us to use it. I find the older I get the less I retain without reviewing and rethinking then doing.
May this approaching autumn season be beautiful. smiles.
I love your style of teaching, there’s something about it…you certainly know your stuff, that’s undoubtable but you’re also very laid-back and fun with it while still being encouraging and informative.
You have a lovely speaking voice and seem to project an aura of calm and quiet confidence. It makes all the difference!
I’ve been using Lightroom since around 2010 but…so happy I did this class…discovered more stuff, found new ways of doing things and learnt a lot about the new features….and heck, I’ve still got a few days lessons to go!
It’s not only the education side of it though, it’s also a little ‘inspiration pill in the inbox’ (sounds better than kick up the arse, doesn’t it?) every day which is a perfect antidote for my procrastination.
Thank you so much for 31 Days. I have learned more from this class than any other. I even went to a Scott Kelby seminar for LR4. It has to be your way of teaching and how sweet you are. I really enjoyed the class. Thanks again.
Kim, I absolutely loved 31 Days of LR! The format was fantastic-I loved the daily message and lesson. It just seemed more doable to me. I was really hoping that there would be another 31 Days!
Thank you so much!
