How to Apply Lightroom Presets to Video

One of the most asked questions I receive on Instagram.
‘Can I use Lightroom presets on video?'

Short answer: YES!

Let’s break it down!

Applying my presets in Lightroom or my LUTS (coming soon) in Final Cut Pro makes it so easy to create a cohesive look on my photos and videos.

I encourage you to pop a video into Lightroom for a little preset play and let me know in the comments how it goes!

A Quick Note about Using Presets on Your Phone Videos

Because you can only export videos in landscape (16x9), your portrait (9x16) phone videos will need to be rotated to landscape before you import the clips into Lightroom.
(sideways like my video in today’s tutorial).

Also, I haven’t had much luck editing my iPhone 13 cinematic video clips in Lightroom. In fact, Lr crashes as soon as I try to apply a preset on my M1 Macbook Pro. Maybe it’s just me though. You can always give it a go.

(Mostly, I use my phone or Final Cut Pro to edit all my phone videos?)
