‘Tis the Season for Pretty Paper Garlands
Making paper things…is definitely one of my favourite things.
Today. Paper garlands.
First.
simple circles.
Second.
paper doves.
The doves are definitely my favourite.
(grab the printable below)
Third.
paper stars.
Thank you Cricut for doing the cutting for me.
Supplies:
+cord of choice. (I used 3-ply jute)
+watercolor paper or sturdy card stock in your color of choice.
+shape outline or shape punch (like this one for example).
+hole punch (I used this ‘beast’. I like that it makes small holes on several sheets at once.)
+scissors.
+wire cutters.
+ruler.
+optional: cutting machine. (like a Cricut)
The Steps:
cut your desired shapes.
cut your cord to desired length.
tie a loop at one end.
tie loose knots approximately every 5 Inches down the cord.
tie another loop at the end.
cut wire in 3” lengths to attach your shape. the wire allows the shapes to dangle a bit. (which I love). Alternatively you could simply tie the shapes directly to your cord.
Hang and enjoy.
Download The Dove Printable or Png Pattern
I drew a simple dove pattern, scanned it, then opened it into Photoshop to duplicate it multiple times on a letter-sized page.
Then I saved it as a PDF and also as a transparent PNG so I could use my Cricut.
Over to You.
Whatcha think?
Might you make a paper garland or 2?
Would you be interested in how I set up the file for cutting with the Cricut?
Pop back tomorrow for my ‘How to Gift a Paper Garland in a completely lovely and elevated way.
