STOP WAITING TO START

In the Elevate class, we’re taking a little time to define/refine our visual style. In the first session, I invited the students to write as if they already had their dream photography job.

To first imagine, then write as if their dream is already true.

Writing as if puts the brain to work looking for ideas, opportunities, tiny little seeds of possibility.

In my interview with Lean Timms, she encouraged us to shoot what we most want to shoot starting now. Stop waiting!
And when Ruth was first starting out she submitted a story to a magazine with photos from her point and shoot! Guess what, she got in!

Waiting for the right gear, the right time, the right opportunity to go for the dream is such a waste of precious time.
Why not decide to start now.

Wanna tell visual stories? Start a blog. Take the photos and tell your stories.

If you don’t have a blog, there’s plenty of platforms (both free and paid to choose from).
You can even start telling the stories you wanna tell, in the way you wanna tell them right on Instagram.

Write it down. Make a plan. Start. One step, then the next, and repeat.

We live in such an amazing time. With a few clicks, we can share our stories with the world.

What do you dream to do? Why not start NOW. You’ve got this!
