Sunday Musings

Hello, my lovely. How are you?
Welcome to my new ‘virtual’ home. I’m so glad you stopped by.

In prep for this week’s Elevate mood board class … I made this real-life giant mood board. (4 x 8 feet).

This week in Elevate we’re going to …

  • study the images we’re most connected to. (really see them!)

  • evaluate our current work so that we can intentionally define/refine our elevated style.

  • make some mood boards.

Before I carry on with the Sunday musings… a few bits and bobs about my GIANT mood board.

  • The linen background and swatches are all from Pure Linen Envy.

  • Typography and photo prints are by me, printed with the Hp Tango. One of the BEST discoveries of my creative life. Do you have one? Are you familiar with the Instant Ink plan! Amazing!

  • Tear-outs from a favourite magazine Country Living.

  • Silk ribbons are from a variety of Etsy sellers. If you’re looking for links drop me a comment and I’ll for sure let you know.

It’s been a busy and buzzing week.

First, this new site. Have a little poke around. Be sure to check out my interactive mood board. So fun!
There’s still some work to be done, pages to be added, links to be fixed and, and, and... But woo hoo… she’s LIVE. ♡

Next… the gift of two amazing conversations for the Elevate class.

On Tuesday I spoke with Ruth Ribeaucourt of Faire Magazine.
Ruth shared 2 hours of amazing insight and inspiration including what she looks for in the stories/images she features in Faire (and so much more).

Here are a few of the Elevate student takeaways from the interview.

her stories really hit home. No more thinking how everyone else has the special sauce that I need to find before I can expose myself. I am going to quit worrying and just show up to do the work! Thank you Kim & Ruth!’ —Lisa

This was a really wonderful, down to earth interview! I took many things away from the interview…one being just show up and do it!’ —Kim

Aside from how "real" Ruth is, two quotes of her's really resonated with me. The first being, "Say yes, then figure it out later." And the second, "Creativity can allow us to find a path out of dark places.’ —Laura

Thank you Ruth for sharing so openly with us …including the encouragement to stop overthinking and just GO FOR IT!

I am honored to be a part of the first issue of FAIRE. Truly, so blessed.
If you haven’t checked out Faire magazine, you must! Click HERE for details and be sure to follow Ruth for the most wonderful inspo.

I was blessed to meet Lean Timms in Greece. She is one of those beautiful people you can’t help but love! So genuinely kind and oh my word… TALENTED. Her images blow my mind!
When I was dreaming of people to chat with for the Elevate class Lean was top of list. And yay she said yes!

Lean shared so much including her must-shoot shot list and so much more.

Here are a few of the Elevate student takeaways from this conversation.

Wow I just finished watching this amazing interview with Lean, a beautiful, full of light, generous, incredible soul! So inspiring. Thank you Kim and Lean for your gifts. I love that she shared with us her list of shots that she uses to tell the story, and that she uses all her sense to be as real as possible when telling the story, so powerful and beautiful.’ —Constanza

love her philosophy - just ask if they say no well ok, but they just might say yes. I also like her idea of thinking about your photography like it is your dream job. —Jean

She is so real! Thank you Kim for making this possible. Lean was so open and honest and gave me so much to think about. I loved her saying that your photography is beautiful because YOU think it's beautiful. Amazing person.’ —Pam

Thank you Lean!! I’m grateful to know you!
