A New Class, Human Touch Camera Tutorial and…
Present less Placed Styling Thoughts
I miss blogging daily.
It was the perfect way to share what’s been spinning around in my mind.
Today.
a BTS Camera setup and shooting tutorial
my super exciting new class
and random thoughts on styling photos.
Starting with the New Class
How to Make Timelapses and Stop Motions.
Without Shooting Videos or Video Editing Software.
(Lightroom is all you need).
Maybe I should have called this class How I Make Timelapses and Stop Motions because it’s different from anything I’ve seen.
This is NOT a class on how to set up your camera to auto shoot over a specific period of time. Ie. the sunset or rise.
Instead, I will teach you how I create stop motions, time-lapses, and a hybrid of both. By simply clicking, clicking a bunch of stills and weaving them into a video ALL in Lightroom.

Not Just for Lifestyle Photography.
You can use this exciting technique with all kinds of subjects, including family, friends, portraits, couples and more.
I’m sharing:
my camera setup
camera settings
behind-the-scenes shooting
Lightroom import process
Lightroom photo editing process
Lightroom converting your photos into a video process. You do NOT have to use video editing software, which saves a TON of time. (This is only possible with the MAGIC presets provided in this course).
Bonus: Because you’re taking photos (not video) you’ll have a lovely assortment of stills you can use. This is extra special when you’re shooting people because you’ll capture so many amazing moments in the frames.
Turn Your Stills into Fun & Interesting Videos
In this class we will make stop motions, time-lapses, and a mix of both.
I’ll show you exactly how I shoot, edit and make the films.
Essentially you will set up your camera, then fire one shot after the other using a remote.
Once the photos are taken, we’ll jump into Lightroom to edit and combine the stills into a super fast and fun video.

A Few from This Shoot.
Let me know if this tutorial was helpful. If yes, maybe I can do some more like this for future posts.
And one more quick thought…
I was ‘styling’ this little corner when a thought came in.
Present less placed.’
This is how I like to style my scene. Less formal. Un-styled perhaps.
An invitation to imagine you were there.
It takes practice but I think it helps to imagine someone is there and how each object fits into the story you’re telling.
And speaking of story. That’s key.
For me, the story is almost always, quiet pockets of calm. An invitation to notice and be with the simpler things in this life.
It just occurred to me now.
Present less placed…
Perhaps this is the biggest difference between lifestyle and still life.
Hmmm.
Just thinking out loud.
Over to You
As always, I’d love to know YOU were here. Say hello, share your thoughts, your Q’s in the comments below.
Be well.
