Research, content ideas, clarity—all in one place (video tutorial)

vintage typewriter tips on using notebook LM for ideas and clarity.

If you're building something—a new offer, a body of work, a business direction—learning something brand new—but feeling a bit scattered, today’s video is for you.

NotebookLM is a smart, minimal workspace from Google that lets you gather your sources, ideas, and research in one place—and then actually helps you think through them.

In this video, I walk you through the new mind map and discovery features using my own website as the source. It's especially useful if you’re trying to clarify your voice, shape your story, or find themes you didn’t realize were already there.

It’s like having a creative assistant who reads everything you’ve ever written—and then hands you back a clear map.

Ways to use NotebookLM (with real-life examples):

Refine your brand message
I dropped my website into NotebookLM and asked it to tell me what it sees. The mind map it generated helped me spot recurring themes in my blog and about page—white space, storytelling, coaching, minimalism. A helpful mirror.

Plan your next offer
Upload your brainstorm notes, past client feedback, and landing page drafts. Let the mind map show connections you might have missed—and use the chat to sketch a study guide, email sequence, or FAQ.

Pull blog and Substack post ideas from your own content
I clicked into the 'white space' branch of my map and found rich snippets from my past writing. Perfect jumping-off points for new articles I wouldn’t have remembered.

Create your own research hub
Want to learn a skill or explore a niche topic? Drop in a few YouTube videos or articles, and NotebookLM will find more—and help you study it with summaries, outlines, and even quizzes.

Have focused conversations with your content
Unlike other AI tools, it only pulls from the sources you feed it. So if you're working on something specific, like a course or a personal essay, it won’t go off track. It stays grounded in your world.

Save and reuse your insights
Every helpful response, can be saved as a note—turning your notebook into a living, constantly becoming resource.

It’s early days, but I’m finding this tool incredibly helpful for thinking clearly and making creative work feel more manageable.

Curious to try it?
