truth note 01 | the seemingly simple and insignificant things
thoughts, and lovely links to explore.
Wake up.
Check my phone. Drink some water.
Write.
Check my email.
Take a shower.
Go to work.
Oh, that light.
Style a story. Click, click.
Jump on a zoom.
Have a little lunch.
Answer emails.
Write a post, send out an email, make a tutorial.
Oh, that light. Click again.
5:00? How?
Tidy up (or not).
Turn off my Mac.
Time for home.
Go for a walk.
First Ben’s than mine.
Time for dinner. Watch a little Vera. (our current Britt Box show of choice).
Sidenote: John tells me the star, Brenda Blethyn was 65 when she started the series 11 seasons ago. Impressive, don’t you think?
Bible reading. We’re doing this plan as a family right now.
Pull out the pilates mat. (most nights, definitely not all).
Scroll the internet, watch a little youtube, answer an email, send a few texts. (I know I shouldn’t at night but I do)
maybe watch a little Chicago Med. (why am I still watching this?)
Lights out.
In times like this, it’s easy to let go of the seemingly insignificant things we do.
Writing, making art, long walks, tending the garden, baking bread, watering our plants, reading a good book.
Hanging linen, and lovely grasses in the just-right light. Click, click.
We might even question what’s the point? Especially when it’s not paid work.
When I’m stressed and worried I just wanna crawl under the covers and never get out.
And some days I do.
But mostly I get up and on with my day. It’s in my routine, work, that I find my way.
Maybe, just maybe the seemingly simple and insignificant things are more important now than ever before.
Whatcha think?
I’d love to know a seemingly simple and insignificant thing you might choose to do today because you can. ♡

Go gentle my friend.
With love & gratitude.
