how did I miss this book? and my secret obsession revealed
Currently.
I'm loving this book by Bex Partridge. Oddly enough, I missed the original release. How?
I think pretty much anyone who reads my blog would love this beautiful book.
It's packed with inspiration and the photography is s t u n n i n g.
Take a peak and let me know if you treat yourself. (or maybe you already have it in your favorite book stash?)

These days I’m making …
Lots of journals, planners, and notepads.
I’m loving the rounded corners and brown kraft pages in this journal design (but it's still a work in progress.)
Speaking of rounded corners. This is my favorite corner rounder.
Tomorrow or the next I’m going to try a linen-covered journal. (linen and paper equal bliss for me).
The little to-do list says could, should, would … DID along the bottom. Kinda fun! Right?
Quick Q: Would you be interested in this as a PSD template?
:)
And speaking of to-do lists. Have you downloaded my free minimalist to-do list? If not, pop over HERE for the download.

My Latest Obsession… (and obsession is an understatement).
A few months backed I stumbled down a very deep cutting machine rabbit hole.
Several evenings and many hours on youtube later, I invested in the Cricut Maker 3.
If you’ve never explored die-cutting machines this might sound a lot like jibberish. (it did to me)….
But my Cricut has inspired so much creativity in me.
While researching the Cricut print and cut process, I discovered the Silhouette Cameo is a favorite of many print & cut designers. So after a little/lot of research, I invested in a Cameo 4 as well.
This might seem ridiculous. How many cutting machines does one actually need?
But from a teaching perspective knowing both machines is a definite plus. (yes I imagine die-cut design classes in my future)
So far… (it’s only been a month or 2)
I prefer the Cameo for print and cut (flexible size options). I also find the Silhouette software is more Photoshop-like which is a definite plus.
As for the Cricut, I still love it and I’ve been using it almost exclusively for printing on fabric. Like the little banner design below.
In the past when someone mentioned the Cricut, I envisioned colourful cutsie stickers. And that’s just not me.
But these machines can do so much more!
Like cutting perfectly clean/even paper pages for notebooks, covers, tags, stationary, custom envelopes, folios, art prints, postcards. On and on I could go.
I’m not certain where all this making is going, but I’m leaning in and following my curiosity along the way.
Exciting and challenging all at once.
Oh and I wanna make a BIG sign that says…Permission to Fail to hand in the studio!
In fact I’m playing with this for my ‘mantra of the year’.
Question for you:
If you had 100% permission to fail, what might you try?
I’d love to hear in the comments below.
I best hit publish and sign off for now.
Brett challenged John, Bryce, and me to join him and Gigi for a yearlong Bible reading. (gulp)…
Each day we read several chapters, then discuss what we’ve read. It’s time to start.
Thanks so much for stopping by. And thank you for your comments. It really does mean the world.
